Diapers Coupons

New parents will find that diapers are an unavoidable fact of life when raising babies and toddlers. Newborns can go through up to a dozen diapers a day, so parents should stock on plenty of diapers. Online diaper coupons can help defray the cost of keeping baby in diapers. Pampers, invented in 1961, remains the leading brand of diapers in the U.S. Other popular diaper brands include Huggies and Luvs.

Diapers

The majority of parents prefer disposable diapers for convenience and ease of use. In the U.S., 95% of households use disposable diapers. However, cloth diapers are still available, and some parents favor the reusable cloth diapers for environmental reasons.

While babies wore cloth diapers for hundreds of years, an American mother is credited with inventing the first form of disposable diapers in 1946. Marion Donavan cut up a plastic shower curtain and placed it over a cloth diaper. Donavan called her invention the “boater,” and sold it at Saks Fifth Avenue. Pampers rolled out the first major brand of disposable diapers 15 years later.

While there are several brands of diapers available, parents should try out each brand to see which one works best for their baby. Huggies coupons and Pampers coupons can help parents save on the necessity of diapers. Luvs coupons can also cut costs on the “budget brand” of diapers.

Some discount stores such as Walmart also offer their own brand of diapers. Parents can look for Parent’s Choice coupons to save even more money on the store brand offered by Walmart. Although Walmart also used to offer White Cloud diapers, the brand was discontinued in 2009.

As soon as children graduate to potty training, pull-ups and Goodnites can help with the transition. Both pull-ups and Goodnites are fashioned like regular underwear that children can take on and off easily.

Other diapers parents may want to purchase include swim diapers for when children visit the pool. The diapers are designed for use in the water without becoming soggy like regular diapers. Both Huggies and Pampers offer swim diapers for babies and toddlers.

While some parents dread changing diapers, the ritual can offer a chance to bond with your baby. More dads are changing diapers these days, too. A 2009 poll conducted by the British website What’s on 4 Little Ones found that 80% of dads participated in changing diapers at least some of the time.
